Oak Apple Day celebrated in style

Posted by Ivor Phillips on 1 June 2017

This year Bank Holiday Monday, May 29th, coincided with Oak Apple Day. The team were invited to perform at Boscobel House in Shropshire. This was the place where King Charles II hid in an oak tree from the parliamentary army, which gave rise to the name of the day.

Although the weather was a bit damp, we had a small but appreciative audience for our two spots. Vernon proposed the royal toast. And team members had the opportunity to look around the house and garden.

The organisers at Boscobel were very appreciative of our presence.
